The show must go on, and so shall their music. The Seattle-based rock band Foo Fighters has decided to continue performing music following the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins. They have agreed to proceed, although making it clear that moving on, they shall be a “different group.”
Since Hawkins’ death, the band’s had a rough year. In an Instagram post, they cited 2022 as “the most difficult year” and paid tribute to their beloved fans and friends for a never-ending wave of sympathy and support.

How Foo Fighters Remembered Taylor Hawkins
The Foo Fighters band took to social media to commemorate their late friend, expressing their gratitude for “the people that we love and cherish most, and for the loved ones who are no longer with us. Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life,” the band wrote, adding that fans had built “a worldwide community, a devoted support system that has helped us all get through the darkest of times together.”
But the most heartbreaking yet significant message on the post was that Foo Fighters would go on with Taylor Hawkins, who helped make the band what it is today. However, they would now be a “different band going forward.” They ended the post by thanking the fans again, saying their dear departed shall always remain with them in spirit every night.

What Was The Cause Of Taylor Hawkins’ Death?
In March, the 50-year-old musician Taylor Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room in Columbia on a Friday afternoon. The following day, official authorities announced that a preliminary urine toxicology test indicated around ten substances in his system at his death, including opioids, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, and THC (a psychoactive drug found in cannabis).
Further medical claims reported his heart weighed at least 600 grams, about double the standard size, and that it could have been malformed without any number of drugs. Interestingly, his final words seem to have been voicemail sent to his late friend, Farrell, and his wife, Etsy, the night before he died. He said, “Take care of each other. And I’ll take care of myself.“
