It seems Jack Antonoff has joined the Taylor Swift– Billie Eilish feud as the music producer happened to make a shady statement regarding songwriting, that many saw as a diss towards one of Billie’s songs from her new album.
Both pop-stars were involved in an apparent feud after Billie made shady statements about Taylor releasing multiple variants for her albums and later came under fire for seemingly dissing Swift’s three-hour concerts. Adding fuel to the fire, here’s how Jack Antonoff shaded Billie Eilish.
Jack Antonoff Seemingly Shades Billie Eilish
The Bleachers frontman and Taylor Swift’s longtime bestie and producer Jack Antonoff discussed his band’s new self-titled album in an appearance on Today. When questioned about how he writes songs, he said that, more often than not, its emotional experiences that drive him to create music than his lunch order.
The producer said, “It’s hard to write unless you’re really compelled. And sometimes what compels you is way more serious things. I never feel like… You don’t hear a lot of great songs about like, one’s lunch order. So the things you don’t really understand and cause you pain are usually things worth writing about.”
His statement about lunch was quickly singled out by fans as a diss towards Billie who has a song of that name.

Many fans also said that the statement was not at all shady and Jack was talking about literal lunch.
The song Lunch isn’t actually about Lunch. Jack was quite literally talking about people not writing about mundane activities such as ordering Lunch.

It’s funny that Billie stans will take this as shade but overlook Billie’s longtime manager liking and retweeting Taylor hate 😭 https://t.co/HfCJu0aUJ5

Billie Eilish’s Feud With Taylor Swift
Reports of Taylor Swift weaponizing her fandom to attack Billie Eilish came to attention when the ‘Fortnight’ singer was accused of releasing multiple variants of her album to block Billie’s album from the charts. Prior to this, Billie had made statements against artists who release multiple variants of the same album, something that many saw as a diss towards Swift.
Moreover, Billie’s comments throwing hate towards artists who perform at 3-hour concerts also added fuel to the fire as many saw it as directed to Taylor who is known to perform long shows.
None of them have publicly acknowledged the feud or have spoken up about it as of yet. It may be an actual dispute or it may be another situation of fans exaggerating statements and creating fan wars. In the past, both the artists have been highly supportive of one another and it’s unlikely that they would get on bad terms without any reason.
