Ever since her album ‘1989‘, Jack Antonoff has been a solid part of Taylor Swift‘s career and has helped her create some of the best songs of her discography ever since then.
The producer, who has been regarded as one of the best in the industry and works with artists like Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, The 1975, and Lana Del Ray, opened up on how Swift helped him kickstart his career. Here’s the full story.
How Taylor Swift Kickstarted Jack Antonoff’s Career
Jack Antonoff was given the title of ‘Producer Of The Decade’ by Variety as he opened up on his producing career and how Taylor Swift was a huge chunk of it.
“I actually would say she’s the first person who allowed me to produce, really, because I was already doing it,” Antonoff said. “The way my early collaboration with her came along was, I was making tracks, and she would write all the lyrics and melodies, then we’d get together and record it — it wasn’t that deep. And when it reached the point where, in the past, someone said ‘now we’ll hand it off to so-and-so producer,’ she just said, ‘It’s done’”.
Antonoff has worked with Taylor on ‘1989‘ and co-wrote and produced some of her best songs from ‘Folklore‘, ‘Evermore‘ and the newly released ‘Tortured Poets Department.’
Jack Antonoff’s Major Collaborations
Jack has worked on Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Short N Sweet‘ and even received backlash for it, to which Sabrina retaliated, saying he’s one of the most talented people she has ever met.
Apart from the pop stars, Antonoff works with Charli XCX, indie band The 1975, Lana Del Ray and his own band The Bleachers
Talking about the main pop girls he said, “Sabrina, Charli and Chappell Roan — the three of them have had this shared experience of artists who have been crystallising, and that’s where you get gems.”
