With the rapidly fast advancement of artificial intelligence and its tools, there has been an ongoing debate about the future of musicians and other artists, as voiced by Selena Gomez. From mimicking singers very accurately to making realistic videos using actors’ and celebrities’ faces, AI does it all.
So, it’s not surprising that all the musicians are working together to find an issue and protect their careers. The open letter talked about ‘AI-generated noise’ taking away from real jobs despite enabling growth. “Make no mistake: we believe that, when used responsibly, AI has enormous potential to advance human creativity and in a manner that enables the development and growth of new and exciting experiences for music fans everywhere,” the letter read.
According to the letter AI was being used to steal from artists and their livelihoods and destroy the ‘music ecosystem’. “We must protect against the predatory use of AI to steal professional artists’ voices and likenesses, violate creators’ rights, and destroy the music ecosystem.”
It further requested that music platforms and services not use AI-generated music. “We call on all digital music platforms and music-based services to pledge that they will not develop or deploy AI music-generation technology, content, or tools that undermine or replace the human artistry of songwriters and artists or deny us fair compensation for our work.”

Nicki Minaj Slammed For Signing The Letter Despite Using AI In Her Album
Rap queen Nick Minaj’s latest album ‘Pink Friday 2‘s promotional content was filled to the brim with AI-generated art. Nicki even started a trend where her fans were also participating in the AI-generated roll-out via her ‘Gag City.’
However, this was enough for people to call her out for signing a letter to ‘Cease AI’. As she has previously used it herself for her latest album. “Nicki doing the right thing for the first time in her career. It’s a little ironic though since the entire pf2 rollout was AI. But anyway,” a user on X commented.
