Beyoncé is one of the artists who is single-handedly reviving economies in some parts of the world. She is basking in the glory of an exquisite tribute to queer ballrooms with her seventh studio album, ‘Renaissance.’ The album is a celebration of the culture and music that queer artists pioneered and helped change the music game altogether with their resilient and extraordinary voices and sounds.
In May 2023, Beyoncé kicked off the ‘Renaissance Tour’ in Sweden, and since then, Queen Bey has been serving in sequins, spandex, and shimmering silver. Now, the tour has reached its last leg, with concerts across North America. In the first week, Beyoncé enthralled audiences and celebrities in Los Angeles with her first night at SoFi Stadium. She brought surprise headliner DJ Khaled, who, in turn, had a party before Bey graced the stage. However, netizens have criticized the artist for not bringing queer artists.
Beyoncé’s Los Angeles Concert Lacked Queer Artists
Beyoncé has always been an advocate and a favorite artist for queer individuals. During the making of ‘Renaissance’ and the world tour, she collaborated with many queer artists, including the trans DJ Honey Dijon. The artist even extended her gratitude to the queer community during her speech at the historic Grammys in 2023. The ‘Formation’ artist said, “I’d like to thank the queer community for your love, for inventing the genre. God bless you.”
However, during the recent SoFi Stadium concert of ‘Renaissance Tour,’ Beyoncé had DJ Khaled as her opening act. The artist brought out other artists like Wiz Khalifa, who sang ‘Young, Wild & Free’ and ‘See You Again.’ Along with him were 2 Chainz, Coi Leray, Lil Wayne, Offset, and other artists. Offset faced the heat after rapping a homophobic verse on YFN Lucci’s song ‘Boss Life.’ He said, “I cannot vibe with queers.” Later, he apologized for that. Due to this, some BeyHives are not happy with the artist.

Netizens Expresses Disappointment Towards Lack Of Queer Artists During The Headlining Set
Beyoncé has received flak from the queer community again for a lack of LGBTQIA+ concern after the Dubai debacle, where she performed despite anti-queer laws in the country. Now, she is getting criticized by some fans for not having queer artists despite the pride flag at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
With peace and love to Beyoncé Offset is actually horribly homophobic, kinda disgusting to have someone like him at your tour when you claim it’s all a celebration of queer culture. https://t.co/QdLL11nCg5

No one is above critique, don’t let your idol worship fool you. I LOVE Beyoncé too but why are there openly homophobia people performing on a stage that suppose to be dedicated to queer ppl? Why is there 0 trans women (as far as we know) in this ballroom heavy stage?

If ‘Renaissance’ is a celebration of queerness it needs to be present and I’m not seeing it.

All tour Beyonce hasn't had an opening act I need to know what made her go with dj Khalid instead of a queer dj who could bring out other artists because having him bring out a group that has a history of homophobia it's a slap in the face to everything this tour represents

It’s just so weird to have those type of rappers and homophobic people at a supposed celebration of queer culture I don’t know what Beyoncé was thinking there are so many queer rappers that are from LA and queer performers that could’ve been on stage it was definitely a choice
