Taylor Swift praised Charli XCX for her recently released album ‘Brat’. Charli added a new feature song to her album, ‘Sympathy Is A Knife’. The song is widely believed to be about Taylor but Charli squashed the rumors. Charli’s ‘Guess’ and ‘Apple’ have ranked within the Top 10 in the UK charts. Taylor’s shout-out came after Swifties and Charli’s fans feuded over the singers’ positions on the charts.
Earlier, Swift beat Charli to first position on the music charts. Following, Charli’s fans in Sao Paulo chanted in Portuguese, “Taylor is Dead”. The ‘Apple’ singer stated that she does not tolerate such aggressive fandom and requested to stop the hatred towards Taylor. The ‘Lover’ singer recently also complimented Sabrina Carpenter for her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ album.
Taylor Swift Is “Blown Away” By Charli XCX
Amid the heat between the singer’s fandom, Taylor was all sweet words for Charli XCX. The ‘Blank Space’ singer said, “I’ve been blown away by Charli’s melodic sensibilities since I first heard ‘Stay Away’ in 2011. Her writing is surreal and inventive, always.” Comments by the ‘360’ singer have made controversial headlines before. Charli, in 2019, compared Taylor, who attended her concert, to a five-year-old.
Charli apologized for her statement later. Meanwhile, Swift talking to Vulture said, “She [Charli] just takes a song to places you wouldn’t expect it to go, and she’s been doing it consistently for over a decade. I love to see hard work like that payoff.” Fandoms of both singers recently got into a row over the singers’ ranks in charts.

“That Song Is About Me”: Charli On ‘Sympathy Is A Knife’
The ‘Sympathy Is A Knife’ singer also squashed all rumors about the song based on Swift. She revealed, “People are gonna think what they want to think. That song is about me and my feelings and my anxiety and the way my brain creates narratives and stories in my head when I feel insecure and how I don’t want to be in those situations physically when I feel self-doubt.”
In previous months, Charli’s fans were enraged over Taylor besting the former in the music charts. People in Sao Paulo chanted in Portuguese, “Taylor is dead.” Swifties retaliated online. In her Instagram story, Charli wrote, “Can the people who do this please stop. Online or at my shows. It is the opposite of what I want and it disturbs me that anyone would think there is room for this in this community. I will not tolerate it.”
