Never knew that a simple music video would garner so much attention and diverse reviews from the audience. Some people think that the new music video of Katy Perry’s ‘Women’s World’ is aimed to capture the male audience and it got diverted from the feminist lyrics of the video.

According to the viewers, the video is more focused on the male gaze. The three-minute-long video starts with Katy dressed as  Rosie the Riveter, who is seen working at a construction site. But it quickly changes to Katy peeing at a urinal and pouring whiskey all over her body saying “Whiskey for Women” and then proceeding to remove her jacket to reveal an American-printed flag bikini.

Another part of the video also featured Katy’s breast moving in slow motion. People took the video in different ways and many misinterpreted the actual meaning of the video.

People’s Reaction To The Video

Women’s World

The music video surfaced on social media and people had different takes on it. One user wrote, wrote on X ( Twitter): “ITS KATY PERRYS WORLD AND YOU’RE LUCKY TO BE LIVING IN IT.” Another described the track as the “song of the year.

Others clarified that the video was supposed to be a parody with its exaggerated plotline. The video was actually supposed to be an anthem for women’s empowerment. The lyrics go by: “She’s a sister / She’s a mother / Open your eyes, just look around and you’ll discover, you know / It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be livin’ in it.”

Some people also thought that the video was supposed to be a satire but they later realized that the video’s theme was different. The song has been a hot topic on social media as it has been directed by Dr. Luke, who was previously accused of sexual assault by Kesha in 2014.

But both the good and bad comments are overall working for Katy as the video has already reached more than 3 million views in less than 24 hours after it’s release.
