Country music star Zach Bryan has issued an apology to Taylor Swift fans after making a controversial tweet comparing Kanye West‘s music to hers. Swifties and Kanye West fans are often debating about who the better artist is.
While Ye has been the center of a lot of controversies, a lot of people argue that no one could beat him as an artist. Whereas, Swifties think the same about Taylor. So, Zach’s comments hit a little too close to home. Moreover, Bryan later deleted the tweet and clarified his intentions in a subsequent Instagram post.
Zack Bryan Calls The Kanye West Tweet A Drunken Mistake
In his Instagram story apology, Bryan admitted that he had been “drunkenly comparing two records” when he made the controversial tweet stating “Kanye > Taylor Swift”. He emphasized that he was not intentionally targeting Swift and that his comments were made in a purely musical context.
“I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically,” Bryan wrote, referring to West’s past antisemitic remarks. “I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often.”
Additionally, Bryan’s apology came after a lot of backlash from Swifties who took offense to his comments. Many of them expressed their disappointment and frustration with Bryan’s comparison, citing West’s controversial behavior as a reason to denounce his music.
In the post, Bryan acknowledged the negative reaction to his tweet and expressed his regret for causing upset. He apologized to any Swift fans he had offended and emphasized his love for her music. “I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I’m trying my best!” Bryan wrote.
Zach Bryan Also Talked About His Own Personal Struggles
Bryan further elaborated on his apology to Taylor Swift fans, admitting that his recent X posts were influenced by personal struggles. He acknowledged that his comments were “rude and desensitized” and expressed his deep respect for Swift as a musician.

“I’ve been going through a hard time in my own life and I think I was projecting a little,” Bryan wrote. “To be completely honest, it just came off as rude and desensitized to Taylor. I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don’t appreciate and love what she has done for music.”
By acknowledging his mistake and apologizing to Swift fans, Bryan has shown that he is willing to take accountability for his actions. While Bryan’s apology has helped to defuse the situation, the debate over Kanye West’s music and his impact on the music industry continues.
Many people argue that it is difficult to separate West’s music from his controversial behavior. Additionally, others argue that art should be judged on its own merits, regardless of the artist’s personal life.
