‘Bridgerton’: Who Does Gregory End Up With In The Books?

Bridgerton‘ fans may not see much of Gregory Bridgerton’s romantic journey on screen just yet, but curiosity around his ultimate fate has only grown stronger.

While the series keeps its storyline intentionally understated, the books offer a much better answer about where Gregory’s heart truly lies.

In the Netflix series, Gregory remains firmly in the background during Season 3. The show presents him as the youngest Bridgerton sibling, still years away from stepping into society or pursuing romance. His limited scenes were only focused on family dynamics rather than personal ambition.

Unlike his siblings, his love story does not unfold early. Instead, the author saves his journey for the very end of the Bridgerton series and gives his character enough room to mature before stepping into the spotlight. Because of this, viewers will not find answers about Gregory’s future within the show just yet. To understand where he truly ends up, readers must look to the novels.

Gregory Bridgerton becomes the main character in the final book of Bridgerton, titled On the Way to the Wedding. This is where his full love story finally begins. At first, Gregory believes he is in love with a young woman named Hermione Watson. He is confident and determined to win her over, even though she is interested in someone else.

Hermione’s friend, Lady Lucinda “Lucy” Abernathy, agrees to help Gregory because she thinks he would be a better match for Hermione. As Gregory and Lucy spend more time together planning Hermione’s romance, their own connection grows stronger. Gregory slowly realizes that what he feels for Lucy is deeper and more real than what he imagined with Hermione. However, the situation becomes complicated when Lucy’s own secret comes to light.

Lucy is already engaged to another man, which puts both of them in a difficult position. Despite the emotional confusion and social pressure, Gregory comes to understand that true love is not about chasing an idea, but about choosing the person who truly understands you.

In the end, Gregory chooses Lucy, fully aware of the challenges that come with that decision. Lucy breaks off her engagement and accepts that her future lies with Gregory instead. Gregory and Lucy eventually marry, and their happiness lasts well beyond the wedding day. Together, they go on to raise nine children, creating one of the largest families in the Bridgerton universe.

Although the Netflix series has not reached this point yet, the books leave no doubt about Gregory’s fate. He ultimately ends up with Lady Lucinda Abernathy in a friends-to-lovers story. We will probably get to see his story in Season 6 or season 7 of Bridgerton.
