Plot Details Of ‘Eric’
In the two-and-a-half-minute trailer of ‘Eric‘, we can see a kid named Edgar who gets lost on his way to school, and his father Vincent, portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, goes through many hurdles to find his child. Edgar also shows one of the drawings to his father which eventually happens to be a blue puppet and Benedict can create a connection between the puppet and his child.
The trailer hints at the major plot of the story – how a father can go to any extent to find his kid amidst a mysterious blue puppet eliciting anxiety. ‘Eric’ is set in New York in 1985, against the backdrop of police corruption, crime, and the AIDS pandemic.
After searching through his child’s drawings, the father discovers a blue monster puppet called ‘Eric’. Vincent becomes convinced that if he has to bring back his child he needs to bring Eric on TV for Edgar to notice.

Cast And Release Date Of The Netflix Series
The brilliant cast of the series includes Vincent, who is played by Benedict Cumberbatch. According to Benedict, his character Vincent is “an inspirational, troubled, extraordinarily funny, aggressive and complex human being and this show is a six-part odyssey into his psyche as he becomes unravelled due to the disappearance of his son.”
The other actors in the series include Gaby Hoffmann as Vincent’s wife Cassie and Ivan Howe plays Vincent’s son, Edgar Anderson, while McKinley Belcher III plays Detective Michael Ledroit and Dan Fogler is playing Lennie Wilson. Clarke Peters is also starring as janitor George Lovett who works in the apartment block where Vincent and his family live.
The six-part series launches on Netflix on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
