On The Line’s release in 2022 was not taken while by its audience or its critics. The movie was criticized for its predictable and unrealistic twists. Additionally, it was rated 5.4/10 on IMDB and a low 20% on Rotten Tomatoes further marking its failure to intrigue people.

However, the movie which was titled as a ‘below average thriller’ had different results after its release on Netflix. After its debut on the streaming platform the movie quickly captured the 2nd spot in Netflix’s most-watched movies list. Just behind Succession star Brian Cox’s drama, ‘Mending the Line.’ Despite this, it still didn’t impress its newfound audience and remained a skip for most of the people.
