In January 2024, Diana Tsoy posted a concept video of herself as Toph from ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender‘ on social media. The video saw her perfectly embodying the character’s fighting style and mannerisms.
Fans raved about her audition, with one commenting, “She got all of Toph’s mannerisms…her wide stance, the mantis style, perfect!” When asked about the reaction in her update, Tsoy stated, “I didn’t expect it to get so big…I’m just really thankful for all the support“.
While let down that she didn’t land the coveted role, Tsoy asked fans to still support the production and upcoming season. She acknowledged Netflix went through a “pretty crazy” audition process to find the right actress. “I’m 100% sure they picked out the best young actress for the role,” Tsoy said.
