13 Burning Questions ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ Left Us With

The ending of ‘Peaky Blinders’ has always thrived on ambiguity, but with The Immortal Man positioned as the final chapter of Tommy Shelby’s journey, that ambiguity hits differently.

It does not just tease, it haunts. The story can be over, but the aftermath is still playing in our heads even after the credits are over.

1. What Becomes Of Shelby Company Limited?

Tommy was not merely the leader; he was the system. All deals, all risks, all expansions were dependent on his capacity to look five steps ahead. In his absence, the company was experiencing an identity crisis.

Duke might’ve been running the streets, but was he upholding the company’s standards, or did he trade all the overseas business for war profiteering? Succession might sound valid on paper, but the reality is unpleasant: the empire was constructed on Tommy’s instincts that no other person shares completely.

2. What Happened To Finn Shelby?

'Peaky Blinders' (Image: Netflix)
‘Finn in Peaky Blinders’ (Image: Netflix)

Finn Shelby was always the outsider within the inner circle, Shelby by blood, but never fully trusted with responsibility. By the end, his arc feels deliberately unresolved. He was cast out, humiliated, and left without a clear place in the family hierarchy. Sure, he chose his friend and traitor, Billy, and threatened Duke in Season 6…but did he deserve a complete erasure from any mention in ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man?

That kind of rejection doesn’t just fade; it festers. Hopefully, Finn’s story isn’t finished. If anything, he’s the most likely loose thread to come back as a problem in future spin-offs.

3. Why Didn’t Tommy Reconnect With Charles?

'Peaky Blinders' (Image: Netflix)

Charles Shelby represents the one thing Tommy Shelby could never fully control: the emotional consequences of his life. He reminded Tommy of his greatest love and loss: Grace Shelby. So, Tommy loved his son, but always from a distance. Whether it was guilt, fear, or the belief that he would only corrupt him further, he kept Charles at arm’s length even when he had chances to do otherwise. He let Lizzie take him away in the final season.

In the movie, we find out Charles has chosen the honorable life of a soldier. Tommy seems proud of him, but the tragedy of their strained relationship is clear. Did he stop himself from reconnecting with Charles for protection, control, or to avoid any vulnerability?

4. Is Duke Shelby Ready Or Just Dangerous?

Duke has the fire. The problem? Fire does not make empires, it incinerates them. He is a bearer of the uncivilized DNA of the Shelby rise: violence, instinct, pride. However, what he does not have is the restraint and long-term vision of Tommy.

It is too early to refer to him as the new Tommy. He is what Tommy was before war, loss, and experience made him sharp. The real question isn’t whether Duke can lead, it’s whether anyone can survive his leadership.

5. Have We Seen The Last Of Charlie Strong, Johnny Dogs And Curly?

'Peaky Blinders' (Image: Netflix)

Some characters don’t just exist in ‘Peaky Blinders,’ they anchor it. Charlie Strong, Johnny Dogs, and Curly have always been a part of the soul of Tommy’s world. By the time ‘The Immortal Man’ plays out, they are no longer men at their best; they are men who have survived a life that has given little back than it has taken.

And perhaps that is why their presence is heavier than ever. As Tommy walks away, one might say that their narratives are naturally terminated. But here is the point, Duke does not possess that same history. He doesn’t have roots. And that is where these men still count. They are no longer mere side characters; they are walking reminders of what Tommy Shelby used to be, and what it took to make him.

6. Is The Blue Sapphire Curse Truly Over?

The curse was not only about the gem, but it was about the burden of all that the Shelbys had: guilt, violence, destiny. Even if the object is gone, the cycle it represents might not be. Trauma does not fade away because you wish it to.

The unsettling truth? The next generation might not be cursed by a jewel, but by inheritance.

7. Will Ada’s Children Carry On Her Legacy?

The future generation of Shelbys is already coming into the limelight, but not without bruises. Karl Thorne has become a much more conscious person than the boy that we used to see. Being next to Ada Thorne in her political journey, he has experienced power and its effects firsthand.

Then there is Elizabeth Younger, young, but already moulded by loss. It is not only a tragedy to lose a mother like Ada but a turning point. And that is what makes their future so attractive. This is not merely a question of legacy, but of point of view. Will they accept the Shelby name, or renounce all it means? Such resentment does not fade away. It builds.

8. Will Oswald Mosley and Diana Ever Pay The Price?

There are villains who have dramatic endings. However, others simply walk away. Oswald Mosley and Diana Mitford belong to that category. They cheated, lied, and almost ruined Tommy internally, and yet, they never really paid the price for it.

That lack of closure lingers. Yes, history tells us that they were later to suffer consequences. However, ‘Peaky Blinders’ has never been shown about history; it is an emotional payoff. And now that the payoff seems to be lacking.

9. Is Gina Gray Gone Forever?

There is one thing that this world has taught us, and that is that unfinished business always returns. Gina Gray was not a character who would take defeat meekly. Cerebral, goal-oriented, and forward-thinking- she was the long-game player, even at the expense of everything.

And then there is Jack Nelson, a man whose influence went far beyond Birmingham. The Shelby family never made it feel that his power was completely destroyed, even when they retaliated. It is what makes their absence suspicious. Not resolved. Just delayed.

10. Will Kaulo Chiriklo Keep Duke’s Power In Check?

Rebecca in 'Peaky Blinders' (Image: Netflix)

Rebecca Ferguson’s Kaulo is nothing short of a harbinger in ‘The Immortal Man,’ and by the end, she emerges as one of the most influential forces behind Tommy’s fate. She echoes Polly Gray’s legacy as the new “Gypsy Queen”—whispering to Tommy, advising Duke, and ultimately revealing herself to be far more mystical and untouchable than anyone imagined.

Ferguson has kept the door open for her return in future storylines, suggesting she may not just be a narrative bridge to the past written to conclude Tommy’s story. Instead, she feels like a spiritual compass for the future, especially with Duke Shelby stepping into uncertain territory.

11. Will Charlie Forgive Tommy And himself?

'Peaky Blinders' (Image: Netflix)
‘Peaky Blinders’ (Image: Netflix)

This might be the most emotional thread left unresolved. Charles does not simply inherit a name; he inherits a complex heritage of love, fear, and disappointment. We don’t know anything about his relationship with his step-brother, Duke. It will not be easy to reconcile the identity of his father and his own identity as Duke takes the reins of the Shelby family.

And that is the true tragedy of Tommy Shelby: he created something strong enough to survive him. He is survived by two sons. However, it’s also complex enough to weigh down their possible bond.

12. Will We Meet Lizzie Shelby Again?

'Peaky Blinders' (Image: Netflix)
‘Lizzie in Peaky Blinders’ (Image: Netflix)

No one had more emotional scars than Lizzie Shelby. It is not about power, but about survival. Going back to the Shelby world would be like opening up the wounds that she struggled to get out of. However, when she returns, it will not be in the name of the empire. It’ll be for closure.

The Immortal’ Man does not simply close a story, but reveals what can happen when a force like Tommy Shelby is gone. Empires don’t die cleanly. They reverberate, they disintegrate, they develop. And perhaps that is the thing: Tommy’s greatest legacy isn’t what he built. It’s the question of whether anyone should try to continue it.

13.  Is Hayden Stagg Still relevant?

'Peaky Blinders' (Image: Netflix)

Characters like Hayden Stagg represent something rare in this world: normalcy. He has no legacy or ambition, just survival and dignity. He is more significant in a post-Tommy world than he is in a less. When the kings are down, it is the grounded, practical players who stabilize what’s left.

He might not be the head of the story, but he might be the one who silently influences the direction of the story.
