Fans were quick to point out a glaring editing mistake in the seventh episode of Netflix’s highly anticipated ‘Squid Game‘ season 2. Released just a few days ago, the second season of the globally acclaimed K-drama has been generating significant buzz.
However, this editing oversight has now taken center stage on social media. The show has given fans another reason to talk about it, though perhaps not the one they were expecting.
Cameraman’s “Cameo” Ruins An Important ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Scene
In one of the most pivotal scenes of the show, a cameraman can be seen lurking in the background, filming from a different angle. The slip-up, which was evidently missed by the editors, didn’t escape the eyes of fans. The scene in question was a very intense sequence where Gi-hun and his allies staged a daring attack on the guards at the facility.
The X’s decided to attack the guards, seize their weapons, and storm the control room in an attempt to shut down the deadly games for good. However, amidst the chaos fans noticed something that shouldn’t have been there. A cameraman was faintly visible in the background, holding his equipment and filming from a different angle.
Fans React To The Situation
As expected, social media erupted with reactions to the editing mistake. While some fans were baffled by how such an error could occur in a production as big as Squid Game, others found humor in the situation. “Bro is definitely losing his job after that one,” a fan joked on X.

“How can such a big company not realize this” another fan wrote. The mishap also drew comparisons to a similar incident in ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8, where a Starbucks cup accidentally made its way into a scene.
Despite the backlash, some fans took a more forgiving stance, recognizing that mistakes can happen even in massive productions. “They rushed the release so it was out before 2025. There is an article about the rush somewhere but nothing on this. It happened in Editing so it’s their fault. Not the camera guy’s fault,” one fan explained.
