A small mistake has caught fans’ attention in ‘Stranger Things‘ Season 5, Volume 2, and it’s catching all our attention on social media. It happened during a scene including Holly Wheeler while she is trapped in Dimension X, right in the middle of a tense escape sequence.
Even though it was a very brief sequence, the fans instantly picked on the odd one out and said that it doesn’t go with the show’s 1980s setting.
The ‘Stranger Things’ Scene Where The Error Appears

The scene takes place in Season 5, Volume 2, Episode 7. Holly Wheeler is trapped in Dimension X after Vecna captures her along with eleven other kids from Hawkins. Thick, vine-like restraints keep them stuck, and escape looks nearly impossible. Holly struggles to pull herself free as the camera gives us a close-up. That’s when some viewers noticed a small detail that felt very out of place.

As Holly fights against the vines, her sweater sleeve rolls up and briefly shows an Under Armour undershirt. The logo is clear enough to recognize right away, and that’s the main problem. The issue is that Under Armour didn’t exist in the 1980s. The brand was founded in 1996, almost ten years before Stranger Things Season 5 is set. Fans on Reddit and X quickly pointed this out, calling it a clear timeline mistake.
It Feels Too Similar To The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Mistake

One viewer said that, in Episode 7, while Holly was escaping, the Under Armour logo was clearly visible. The surprising part is that the brand didn’t exist at the time. Another joked that Holly, wearing modern sportswear, was more unsettling than Vecna, and maybe she had traveled into the future.

‘Stranger Things‘ is usually praised for getting period details right, so this feels really weird. Many fans compared it to the Starbucks cup mistake from ‘Game of Thrones‘ Season 8. One commenter claimed that the heavy focus on filming and reshooting Will Byers’ coming-out scene may have contributed to the oversight.
They argued that if production hadn’t spent so much time on that moment, the team might not have missed Holly wearing a shirt from a brand that didn’t exist in the 1980s. The Under Armour mistake also added to the ongoing criticism of Part 2 of the final season.
