‘Stranger Things‘ is a sci-fi drama and horror TV series on Netflix made by the Duffer brothers. The series is one of the most-watched shows on Netflix. The show is based in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. The people of Hawkins are troubled by an alternate dimension ‘Upside Down’, and its creatures.
The show has premiered four seasons as of 2022. After the fourth season’s release, fans have been wondering when the fifth season drops. The ‘Stranger Things‘ writers finally revealed that they have begun developing the scripts for the final season. So when does the season five filming begin? Read on to find out.

When Is The Fifth Season Of ‘Stranger Things‘ Coming Out?
The scripting for the fifth and final season began in August 2022 as shared by the the’Stranger Things‘ writers. But no news about the filming was shared until now. Recently, during the Middle East Film and Comic Con David Harbour revealed that the filming for the season begins in June 2023. Noah Schnapp also revealed in an interview that the filming will likely begin in May-June 2023.
David said about filming, “We’re walking into season five. I’ve got a couple more months to train. We start shooting that in June, though, and that will be the final season. I did a lot of training for season four.”
With the filming to take place in June 2023, it’s safe to expect that the season will land on Netflix in 2024. With the producers of ‘Stranger Things‘ preferring to release the series in July, it’s safe to presume that the final season lands on the streaming platform in July 2024 around the 4th of July festivities.

What To Expect From The Final Season?
Season four of the Netflix show had high-octane drama and plot twists with all the characters fighting against Vecna, Eleven fighting Vecna, and bringing Max back to life with her powers as well as Eddie getting killed.
It’s safe to assume that season five carries forward from the end of season four. In addition to that, the showrunners have revealed how the final season will be ‘Hawkins-centric’. The final season will have all the characters trying and fighting to save their town.
Shawn Levy, who is the executive producer of ‘Stranger Things‘ disclosed, “Our ambitions remain pretty high, and the way the audience has grown along with the cinematic scope of the show, I don’t expect that we’re going to mess with that approach going into season five.”
The showrunners have also revealed how the show will have a time jump and the characters will be in high school. Now, it is up to us to wait and see when the final season releases and the journey it takes us on.
