Amanda Seyfried, who played Karen Smith in the movie “Mean Girls,” discusses what it was like to portray Karen. She recently appeared in an interview for a documentary about the making of the film.
In the interview with “Marie Claire,” the actress, who is 36 years old, revealed her role as Karen Smith, a character in a comedy film in which the lady could perfectly predict the weather by just gripping her breasts.
She thought back to a pivotal scene from “Mean Girls,” in which men approached her and asked if it was pouring outside. “I always felt really grossed out by that,” Amanda Seyfried stated she was disgusted by the male response. “I was like 18 years old. It was just gross.”

Talking about her experience as a teenager in movies, she said, “It must make you feel as though you are teetering precariously close to the edge of a cliff. There are a great number of up-and-coming young artists who are under the impression that they require some kind of support system.”
She further added, “They are under the impression that they cannot be successful without some assistance. They are under the impression that everything in their universe has been turned upside down.”
“Things have a habit of getting tight, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. My contemporaries can attest to this from first-hand experience. Because of this, I ultimately decided to purchase a farm. Let’s head in the opposite direction, shall we?” concluded Amanda.
At this time, the actress is appearing in the Hulu drama miniseries “The Dropout,” which has an impressive cast overall. In addition to Naveen Andrews and Laurie Metcalf, the film also stars Dylan Minnette, William H. Macy, and William Macy.

Amanda is now more at ease with the attention that her role as Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s The Dropout has garnered for her than she was previously. She stated, “It’s very bizarre how celebrity works, if you think about it. To the best of my knowledge, I’ve never been very widely known.
“I’ve always been recognizable in some way, shape, or form,” She shared her viewpoint. Continuing further she said, “Right from the start, we knew this was going to be the way to go. It shouldn’t be a huge problem at all. There are some things that are more important to me than others, and those are a few of them.”
