After losing the defamation trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, the actress has been going quite busy – from flying on a private jet to appearing for her first post-trial interview.
Heard was also recently spotted at a discount store. Her budget shopping comes soon after she faced flak about her incessant spending, amidst her financial crunch. Heard’s lawyers have made it clear that she is not capable of paying damages to Depp.
Amber Heard Shops At Discount Department Store After Facing Flak For Flying In A Private Jet
Amber was shopping at TJ Maxx, a discount department store where clothes are available at a nominal price. Her sister Whitney Heard, who had testified for her during the trial and also supported her after the verdict against her, was also present during the shopping trip in New York’s Hamptons.
Pictures obtained by TMZ showed Amber in a white oversized shirt and a pair of blue jeans as she roamed around the clothing section. It is not clear whether the sisters bought anything during their outing.
Amber owes $10.4 million to Johnny after the jury ruled in his favor. However, her attorney has made it clear that the actor “absolutely” cannot afford to pay the amount.
However, Amber was photographed as she stepped out of a private jet for her first public appearance after the trial. On June 10, she was clicked by the paparazzi at an airfield in Washington DC. After getting off the jet, she moved into a luxury SUV. The appearance led to questions about her financial status.
Social Media Thinks It Was A Stunt
People on social media came up with their own stories and conclusions about Amber Heard’s pictures. They even went one step ahead and called her appearance at TJ Maxx a “PR stunt”. Some Twitter users were also quick to notice the expensive suits she wore at the trial, while others said that TMZ was again tipped off to click her shopping at the discount store. They called the entire thing “staged”.
