DC just released the first trailer for ‘Blue Beetle.’ Xolo Maridueña stars as the new entrant in the superhero genre. The ‘Cobra Kai‘ actor plays Jaime Reyes, a teenager who feels disconnected from his surroundings. Things soon change when he is entrusted with an alien scarab.
Endowed with alien armor and powers beyond one’s imagination, Jaime must acclimatize with this new gift. He must also evade capture from Victoria Kord (Susan Sarandon), who’s hell-bent on getting her scarab back. Jaime, whom the scarab chose, must prove himself worthy of his newfound gift.

All About ‘Blue Beetle’ Character
‘Blue Beetle‘ was introduced in DC Comics in 1939. Dan Garret was the original Blue Beetle, followed by Ted Kord. The DC film is sticking with the Jaime Reyes iteration of the ‘Blue Beetle’ origin story with possibly minor changes.
In the comics, he unwittingly becomes the new Blue Beetle when he takes the scarab. Before he can understand its nature, the scarab magically integrates into his spine. Despite being new to his crime-fighting duties, he plays a vital role in the events of the Infinite Crisis, helping the Justice League track down and destroy the rogue satellite, Brother Eye.
