Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow met for the first time on the set of the movie ‘Se7en’. Gradually, their chemistry deepened and they got engaged in December 1996 after dating each other for two years. But, their romance didn’t last long after that. The two parted ways in 1997. Even after their breakup, Pitt and Paltrow were never abusive or disrespectful to each other.
Pitt went on to marry Jennifer Aniston, and later after their divorce, he tied the knot with Angelina Jolie. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out there either. Paltrow, on the other hand, shares two kids – Apple and Moses Martin, with his ex-husband and Coldplay artist Chris Martin. In a recent chat, Pitt and Paltrow reflected on their engagement, and friendship, and confessed their love for each other.

Recently, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt met for a Q&A interview for the actress’s lifestyle brand Goop. With Father’s Day around the corner, the ‘Iron Man‘ star talked to Pitt about her late father, director Bruce Paltrow.
“I’ll never forget when we were engaged and he came to me one day, his eyes full of tears, and he said, ‘You know, I never really realized what they mean when they say you’re gaining a son. Like, I’m gaining a son,’” Paltrow recalled. “Why did you love him? Even though we didn’t get married, unfortunately.”
“Oh man, everything works out, doesn’t it?” the ‘Fight Club‘ actor told Paltrow. “I finally found the Brad I was supposed to marry,” joked the actress, referring to her husband Brad Falchuk, whom she married in 2018. “It just took me 20 years,” she added.
Brad Pitt then called their friendship “lovely” and said, “And I do love you.” Gwenyth responded with “I love you so much.”
Paltrow said her father Bruce had a great affection for Pitt, who saw Bruce as a fatherly mentor. “We were always going to get his opinion, but there was a fairness to it that I really appreciated,” said Pitt of Bruce, who died in 2002. “I think that struck a chord with me.” Paltrow added, “He loved being that role for the people that he really loved, and you were definitely one of them.”
