‘Deadpool 3′: Is There A New Villain In Ryan Reynolds’ Upcoming Film?

According to fresh speculation, Marvel Studios, ‘Deadpool 3‘ is considering a female protagonist to portray the villain alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
In late September 2022, Ryan made the unexpected revelation that Hugh will reprise his role as Wolverine in the threequel. It will not only be Wolverine’s MCU debut, but also Jackman’s comeback following his allegedly final appearance in Logan.

Deadpool 3‘ officially has a release date, so here’s everything you need to know about Deadpool and Wolverine’s MCU debut…and a new surprise villain?

What To Expect From ‘Deadpool 3’?

The third film is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who also wrote the first two. It will be directed by Shawn Levy, who will reunite with Reynolds for their third film together following Free Guy and The Adam Project. In MCU jargon, this means that the threequel will either be the last installment of Phase 5 or the first installment of Phase 6.

So far, the cast includes Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Colossus (Stefan Kapii), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), and Russell (Julian Dennison) would most likely round out the X-Force crew if we see them again, maybe with Peter (Rob Delaney) in hand.

With Reese and Wernick returning as writers, Chris Hemsworth, who collaborated with them on ‘Spiderhead‘, may be invited for a cameo as Thor. “Oh man, if he did, we certainly couldn’t talk about it. But it’d be super cool,” Reese hinted.

Additionally, there have been rumors that Owen Wilson, who previously played Mobius M. Mobius in Disney+’s ‘Loki‘, may co-star in the upcoming threequel. Ryan Reynolds reportedly wants to cast Channing Tatum as Gambit for a cameo, however, this has not yet been confirmed.

What Would Be The Plot Of The Film?

Reynolds indicated that the threequel is “looking to go in a completely different direction,” adding, “Often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late.” Though ‘Deadpool‘ director stated that the threequel didn’t require an R certificate to be excellent, the film will be classified as R, so don’t worry. Feige stated in February 2021 that ‘Deadpool‘ had “established” itself as an R-rated movie.

Reese and Wernick have assured that the threequel would not be “Disney-fied.” A storyline tease from Reese leads us to believe that the third film will make Deadpool’s appearance in the MCU a part of its tale, rather than revising his MCU position. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water. Deadpool is a lunatic at the centre of a movie. To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it’s straight butter. It’s going to be really fun,” Reese said.

Prior to the Disney-Fox merger, Reynolds tweeted in January 2021 that the third film will be a Rashomon-style road trip with Deadpool and Wolverine.

Feige has also set a high standard for the film, comparing it to other MCU threequels. “How do we elevate it in the way we’ve been able to with Civil War, and Infinity War and Ragnarok?” he asked.

Does ‘Deadpool 3’ Have A New Villain?

The villain of ‘Deadpool 3‘ may have also just been revealed, according to recent casting news. Insider Daniel RPK shared a new rumor that included casting information. They said that Marvel is presently looking for “a foe to Deadpool and Wolverine,” who is likely the antagonist in ‘Deadpool 3‘. Also, they are looking for a female lead between the ages of 30 and 50.

In addition, it appears that Marvel is seeking for a “BIPOC” (also known as a Black, Indigenous, and/or Person of Color) to portray a different leading male. Although they reportedly “share scenes with Deadpool and Wolverine,” this figure is claimed to “not have a superhero suit.”

It’s interesting to note that in a recent “Deadpool Update” video, Ryan Reynolds was shown reading Wolverine v.7 #21 as well. In this comic book issue, Wolverine and Deadpool team up to take on the villain Danger.

Danger just so happens to fit the claimed casting criteria for the movie’s villain. Therefore, it is probable that this movie will introduce Danger into the world of live-action. For those who don’t know who Danger is, they are the sentient adaptation of the Danger Room from the X-Men comics.

For the “BIPOC” character, Forge would probably be the most probable candidate. He has a mutant ability to develop cutting-edge technologies. As a result, if Danger were to appear in the movie, he would unquestionably fit into the plot. Additionally, it would imply that he may possess superpowers even without donning a superhero outfit. Danger and Forge both look like potential options, however, we’ll have to wait and see if they’re both included.

    When Will ‘Deadpool 3’ Release?

There won’t be a trailer for the third movie for some time because filming hasn’t even started yet. The movie ‘Deadpool 3‘ will hit theatres on November 6, 2024. You can watch ‘Deadpool‘ and ‘Deadpool 2‘ on Disney+.
