On Sunday in South Carolina, a US fighter plane with stealth capabilities vanished from the American military’s radar. After what the authorities termed as a “mishap,” the F-35 pilot jumped from the aircraft, thankfully escaping the tragedy.
Joint Base Charleston has made an unusual request to the public for assistance in identifying the missing aircraft as a result of the challenging situation the military has found itself in as a result of the disappearance of the expensive plane. Here’s how the internet reacted to the request:

A US fighter jet, the F-35 Lightning II, reportedly disappeared on Sunday (September 17), after its pilot had to evacuate mid-flight because of a training accident. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division helicopter has joined the ongoing hunt for this important aircraft. However, Joint Base Charleston requested assistance from locals on Sunday via internet posts, which surprised citizens. Following the request, people have questioned on the lack of tracking device in the aircraft.
The main search areas are Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion, just to the north of North Charleston, where the pilot of the missing F-35 Lightning II jet ejected.
We’re working with @MCASBeaufortSC to locate an F-35 that was involved in a mishap this afternoon. The pilot ejected safely. If you have any information that may help our recovery teams locate the F-35, please call the Base Defense Operations Center at 843-963-3600.

Another user called it a disgrace and called out military service for having lack of information on the missing jet.
Yeah this is crazy, the pilot ejected and no information why,all we k ow is the plan was on autopilot and the lost it and have no idea where it’s at. What they don’t have radar to track plans anymore. This is definitely disgraceful and asking the public’s if you see it let us…
