Coming back from school on a hot summer day and binge-watching ‘Ben 10′ on Cartoon Network was everybody’s childhood. From ‘Scooby-Doo’ to ‘The Powerpuff Girls‘, it still feels nostalgic to think about these shows. Recently, news started to surface about shutting down the network.
A hashtag called ‘#RIPCartoonNetwork’ started to trend on social media by an X (Twitter) account after which people were not happy. The channel had to clarify the rumors themselves and this is what they said.

#RIPCartoonNetwork has been trending on the internet for quite a while now. The video posted aimed at the company’s greed and the big studios firing staff to cut down their cost and improve the finances, allowing the CEOs and other big position holders better earnings.
The video urged the viewers to share their favorite shows from the Network and also raised awareness to stand up for the cause and the wrong happening with the people working on the lower levels. The video gained more than four million views in less than an hour.

It sucks that I didn't get into animation to make a lot of money, but to be happy… And to have the people who already make the most decide to cut us to make…
By sharing their favorite cartoons, a few of them also raised their voices against the problems happening with them. Many animators spoke in favor of the video claiming that they lost their jobs due to this happening within the network company.
But Cartoon Network is not shutting down in the near future as the company themselves cleared it and claimed the rumors are false. The account that posted the video is with the animators union and spreading awareness for this cause.
