The defamation case involving Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard finally came to an end with the jury siding with Depp. During the six-week-long trial, Camille Vasquez – one of the lead lawyers in Depp’s legal team, grabbed a lot of attention. Rumors started circling about her and the actor’s relationship. Fans started rooting for them as well.
Vasquez is now a social media star with a huge fan base. In fact, there was a petition to have her replace Amber Heard in ‘Aquaman 2’. Now, Vasquez has addressed her and Johnny Depp’s dating rumors.
Camille Vasquez Calls Dating Rumors “Sexist”
Camille Vasquez has dismissed all the romance rumors about her and Johnny Depp. She criticized the people who thought just a simple hug could mean something more. The lawyer said, “I guess it comes with the territory of being a woman just doing her job.”She continues, “It’s disappointing that certain outlets kind of ran with it or said that my interactions with Johnny — who is a friend and I’ve known and represented for four-and-a-half years now — that my interactions in any way were inappropriate or unprofessional. That’s disappointing to hear.”
Vasquez added that she obviously cares about her clients but that doesn’t indicate that they are dating. “I care very deeply about my clients, and we have obviously become close. But when I say we, I mean the entire team, and of course that includes Johnny,” said Vasquez. “And, I’m Cuban and Colombian. I’m tactile. What do you want me to say? I hug everyone. And I’m not ashamed about that.”

Camille Vasquez also revealed that she has a boyfriend and is very happy in her relationship, and stressed that it is “unethical for us to date our clients. It’s also an unethical charge being made. It’s sexist.” She continued, “It’s unfortunate and it’s disappointing, but at the same time it kind of comes with the territory. I can’t say I was all that surprised.” Vasquez also explained how much affection she has for her job.
About Johnny Depp, she only had good this to say: “This man was fighting for his life and it broke my heart to see him day in and day out have to sit there and listen to the most horrific allegations being made against him. And if I could provide any bit of comfort, then of course I would do that, whether it’s holding his hand or letting him know that we were there and we were going to fight for him because he deserved it.” Recently, Vasquez was appointed as a partner at the Brown Rudnick law firm.
