Austin Butler describes the screening process to be “the most intense thing he ever had to do.” The actual shooting of the movie began after a series of intense exploration and character discussions.

    Presly, the megastar in the Hollywood Music industry was considered to be the king of rock n roll. Elvis, directed by Baz Luhrmann is set to hit the big screens in June. With stars like Austin Butler and Tom Hanks headlining the movie, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the movie. Elvis Presley had a complicated life and an even more complicated relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker.

    “It was the biggest wake-up call in my life.” Austin Butler was up against more Hollywood young stars to portray the role of Presly in the biopic. Ansel Elgort, Baby Driver, and The Fault in our stars fame actor along with Harry Styles, the sensational pop star were also considered to be Elvis for the movie. The actor also spoke about the experience of the screen test and auditions for the role. He stated, “it was months of singing and moving and speaking for hours and hours about character. The first time we sat we talked for three hours and just on very well. Yeah, it was a series of extensive exploration.”

He said in Good Housekeeping, “Elvis hardly ever watched the movies he made because he didn’t like most of them. He’d been given $1 million a picture, plus 50 percent of the net, so he’d been well paid for his work. But he had never had script approval or control over the songs in his pictures, or over anything else.” According to sources, Rufus Sewell will play the role of Elvis’ father in the biopic. The much anticipated musical biopic will hit the theaters on June 23.
