Nikki, who hosted the 2026 Golden Globes on January 11 at the Beverly Hilton, started by talking about Leonardo DiCaprio’s nominated movie ‘One Battle After Another.’ She ran through all his big achievements: his three Golden Globes, his Oscar, and all the famous directors he’s worked with over the years. Then she went right where everyone knew she would.

Nikki joked that the most impressive thing about Leo’s whole career is that he managed to do all of it before his girlfriend turned 30. She called it “insane,” and the crowd was all laughing and gasping.
Meanwhile, Leo, who’s now 51, didn’t look bothered at all. Instead, he laughed and nodded from his seat like he was saying, “Yep, that’s me.” And since news of Leo and his 27-year-old girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti’s vacation was very recent, the joke landed very aptly.
Leo’s Reaction Added The Much-Needed Punch To The Joke
Rather than brushing it off, Leonardo DiCaprio decided to play right along. As Nikki kept going, she admitted she tried not to make that joke, but she joked that she didn’t have much else to tease him about. She even brought up how the most personal interview he ever gave was back in 1991, before asking if his favorite food was still “pasta, pasta, and more pasta.”

From his table, Leo himself mouthed “yeah” and gave a big thumbs-up. Because of that, the room burst into another wave of laughter, and suddenly the whole thing felt playful. But it was not only Leo who became the main target of the jab. Nikki also joked about Timothée Chalamet and Julia Roberts during her monologue. But nothing else got the same reaction as her line about DiCaprio.
