Does a fame-obsessed Meghan Markle dream of becoming the next Diana? A new book by the royal author claims that the former actress aspires to be a ‘Hollywood version’ of the people’s princess.
The book contains blow-by-blow details of Meghan’s royal exit called Megxit. Markle alongside her husband Prince Harry planned to showcase herself in the same light as Princess Diana. The bombshell of a book has more such details.

Royal Author Exposes The Schemes Of Meghan Markle
The drama between Markle, Harry and royal officials began months after the couple wed. According to an excerpt from Tom Bower’s new book ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors,’ published in The Times of London, at one point, Prince Charles confronts his son about the television appearances of Markle’s estranged father. “Can’t she just go and see him and make this stop?” Charles apparently “berated” Harry.
Instead of telling the truth, the young royal supposedly lied. He told his father that his wife did not know how to reach her dad. But, the reality was that Meghan and her father were not on speaking terms.
The Sussexes then bristled at Queen Elizabeth’s request that Meghan flies to Mexico to speak with her dad. This became the moment when Harry began to “sympathize with her rejection of the palace’s deference and hierarchy,” the book said.
The couple grew isolated and attracted scrutiny from the British tabloids by going against palace sensibilities. Meghan soon began to begrudge any comparisons with her always proper sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
Meghan Markle’s Australia Tour Deepened Her Desire To Be Like Princess Diana
The “increasingly fragile” ‘Suits‘ alum began to lash out at critics and blamed the palace for not defending her. Bower writes that tensions escalated when Markle announced that she was pregnant, that too at Princess Eugenie’s wedding reception.
Days later, the couple went on a tour of Australia. There, they were greeted with a fabulous reception that evoked the same feelings as Princess Diana’s overseas tours. The book claims this event started Meghan’s delusions of grandeur. They were also convinced that Meghan could pick up where Harry’s mother left off in terms of garnering goodwill from the public.
The Sussexes failed to consider that Diana’s mass appeal was charged by her vulnerability and cultivated over many years of humanitarianism and genuine behavior. They began to surround themselves with Hollywood insiders who people assured them they could be as popular as the late princess on their own, the book claimed.
The Palace was unnerved by the couple’s ensuing independent PR blitz. For damage control, they set up ‘The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ not as a foundation but as a charity run by trustees — which Meghan viewed as a slight.
In November 2019, Hillary Clinton threw fuel on the fire. She told Meghan that the way she was being treated by the royals was “heartbreaking and wrong” according to the excerpt. Two weeks later Megxit dominated headlines around the world.
The duo announced they were moving to North America. Buckingham Palace, on the other hand, introduced a “slimmed down” monarchy as it also tried to deflect embarrassment from Prince Andrew’s sex abuse allegations.
