Penta Commits To Full WWE Schedule Despite Bicep Tear

As fans celebrated Penta’s iconic Intercontinental Championship win over Dominik Mysterio on RAW earlier this week, the Mexican star revealed that he has actually been dealing with a serious injury behind the scenes. Many fans had been hoping to see Penta end Dominik’s lengthy Intercontinental Title run, and the two delivered a solid contest on RAW that ultimately saw Penta capture his first singles championship in WWE.

However, during a recent appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, the newly crowned champion shared that he has been competing with a torn bicep. While he could not recall exactly how long he has been dealing with the injury, Penta admitted that he has continued to wrestle through the pain, showing his commitment to the fans and the moment.

During the interview, Penta revealed how the injury happened to him around four or five years back. The Mexican star said, “I don’t remember who gave me a kick. One kick in my chest but, basically, he broke my tendon, from the shoulder to the bicep, and bro, it’s so hard.”

Talking about his current injury status, the reigning Intercontinental champion revealed how it does not matter anymore, and he is happy that he is finally holding the gold.

The former Lucha Underground wrestler revealed, “Because the gold is on my shoulder, brother. The gold is in Mexico right now. No matter what happens with my body, I don’t care. This is the most important.”

As his heated rivalry with Dominik Mysterio has seen them clash on several occasions, Penta had previously come up short each time. However, things finally changed earlier this week when Penta avoided a 619 and connected with a Mexican Destroyer to defeat Dirty Dom and capture the Intercontinental Championship.

Despite the big win, it appears Penta may not be done with Dominik just yet. The luchador once took aim at the Judgment Day member, calling him a fake and even questioning his nationality by bringing up his passport.

“Dom is a fake Mexican. He’s a fake son. He’s a fake husband. He’s a fake friend. He’s a fake wrestler. Tell me something. Where from is Dom’s passport?” said Penta.
