Lilibet turns one! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor‘s birthday on Saturday. As Lilibet enjoyed her day, the family released a new portrait to celebrate the occasion.
The pictures were taken by Misan Harriman. It shows Lilibet smiling on the grounds of the Sussexes’ home, Frogmore Cottage, during the little one’s birthday party. She wore a powder blue dress and a bow over her full head of red hair.

The spokesperson along with the pictures released a statement. “Candid, spontaneous photograph that the Duke and Duchess are pleased to share today.”
The couple is also, “incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.”
Close family and friends attended the celebrations. It was an intimate and casual picnic for Lilibet in Windsor, which included a cake by Claire Ptak of East London’s Violet Bakery. (Ptak also did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding cake for their 2018 nuptials.) The guest list included Zara and Mike Tindall, as well as their young children.
Lilibet Was Named After The Queen
The Sussex’s were in town to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It stretched for over four days in the United Kingdom. They watched Trooping the Colour from the Major General’s office. They even attended the Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, on Friday.
This was Harry and Meghan’s public meeting with the family after almost two years. They have together stepped down from their royal duties. They have even opened up about the strain they’d experienced within the family in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.
As they are no longer senior working royals, they did not appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. They also didn’t take part in a carriage procession during the parade.
This trip marked Lili’s first visit to the UK. Meghan and Harry’s daughter was born in California and had yet to visit her dad’s homeland. The trip also allowed Lili to meet her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, for the first time. The little one is named after the monarch as Lilibet was the Queen’s childhood nickname.
The family is now back home to Montecito, California.
