Robert Pattinson has never been short on strange stories, but this time, he left even Zendaya stunned when he revealed a bizarre demand from one of his early auditions.
While playing a fun game together during an interview, Pattinson shared a strange request he once received during an audition. And, it was so bizarre that he said everyone who went through it came out “absolutely traumatized”.
Robert Pattinson Reveals The Bizarre Audition Request

Pattinson shared this story during Entertainment Weekly’s “Lie vs. Lie” with his ‘The Drama‘ costar Zendaya, where both actors try to trick each other with unbelievable statements. But instead of lying, Pattinson ended up revealing what he called his worst audition experience.

He said he was once asked to “pretend to carry a rock from one side of the room to another in your underpants, a heavy rock.” The request sounded so strange that it could easily pass off as a joke, but Pattinson insisted it really happened.
Zendaya quickly believed him. She said she knew it was true because she had heard him tell this story before. Pattinson, realizing he couldn’t fool her, replied, “I told you already,” clearly disappointed that she caught on so quickly.
He then explained that this happened during an audition for the 2006 film ‘300‘. Looking back, Pattinson said that “all the guys in England were doing that,” and added that everyone who walked out of the room looked shaken. He joked that people came out “absolutely traumatized,” and said that “not a single person got the job.”
Zendaya Admits Pattinson’s Stories Can Be Confusing

Even though Zendaya believed this story, she also admitted that Pattinson’s habit of telling crazy stories makes it hard to trust him every time. She explained that he has so many unusual stories that it’s hard to tell which are real.

She said what helps her decide is how consistently he tells them. According to Zendaya, the stories he repeats the same way again and again are usually the true ones. She added that it’s not like he exaggerates everything; some of his stories really are exactly as strange as they sound.
At the same time, Pattinson himself has admitted that he has made things up. That reputation is exactly why even his real stories sound unbelievable. For example, he once said he got into drug dealing while he was in school. Later, he clarified that he wasn’t actually selling drugs; he was selling “sawdust with Febreze on it” to older students instead.
There is no confirmed mention from the ‘300‘ cast about such a strange audition requirement, but other stories from that casting process suggest things could get awkward.
