First concerts are special. But not for Scarlett Johansson. Instead of nostalgic memories to look back on, she only remembers bits and pieces of that night. The reason makes the story even more surprising.
As Johansson openly admitted during a recent interview, she was “so high” at the time that she barely remembers the experience, though one wild detail from the night still stuck with her.
What Actually Happened At Scarlett Johansson’s First Concert?

During her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Scarlett Johansson revealed that her first concert was by Cypress Hill. The show took place at New York City’s now-defunct Roseland Ballroom.

Even though she can’t recall the full experience, Johansson still remembers the overall vibe of the night. “I’m still buzzing from it, man. I am,” she said, reacting to the memory in her own laid-back way. She mentioned that she likely went with a friend, though the details are unclear.
Despite the night being a blur, Johansson recalled that the band rolled a massive blunt on stage, so big that she compared it to the size of a Blimpie sub. Apparently, all the members of Cypress Hill smoked it during the performance.
The blunt was passed around the crowd, which turned the concert into something completely different. Looking back, she laughed and said, “Those were the days, man.”

Johansson Has A Thing For Memories

Johansson seems to cherish her childhood and teenage memories a lot. While guest-hosting on Today with Jenna & Friends, she opened up about the mixed reactions she received from her family when she named her now 4-year-old son, Cosmo, whom she shares with husband Colin Jost.
She admitted that she intentionally kept the name private at first. Johansson explained that she didn’t want to deal with people reacting awkwardly or giving those hesitant “that’s… different” expressions, which often signal quiet disapproval.
However, her mother loved the name and even connected it to a childhood memory, saying her third-grade crush was named Cosmo.
