The ‘Midnights‘ singer Taylor Swift recently on ‘The Graham Norton Show‘ and revealed why she wasn’t cast in the 2012 musical ‘Les Misérables‘. It won fifty-three awards including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Taylor did a screen test in London with Eddie Redmayne, who plays Mirus in the movie. “Basically I was up for two roles – I had the look of Cosette and the range vocally of Éponine,” she said. Later, Amanda Seyfried was cast as Cosette, and Samantha Barks as Éponine.

Taylor Swift Jokes Of Her Embarrassment
‘The Graham Norton Show‘ episode starred Eddie Redmayne, Bono, Alex Scott and Taylor Swift, where she opened up about the audition saying ” I didn’t open my mouth to speak.” She added, “When I got there they put me in full 19th century street urchin costume and they told me they were going to paint my teeth brown.”
Taylor narrated that she agreed to the screen test in hopes of meeting one of her favorite actors, Eddie. “They made me look like death and it became a nightmare. When I met Eddie I didn’t open my mouth to speak,” recalled Taylor.

Eddie Redmayne Shared Taylor’s Feeling
Taylor was not the only one left red-faced. Eddie revealed that they had a mutual predicament: “My overriding memory of it is that I had had pizza and garlic dough balls beforehand and all I could think about was my garlic breath while Taylor was dying in my arms and I was trying to show emotion.”
One can only imagine how the rest of the cast and crew of the film in the background was feeling about this funnily awkward screen test.
