‘Alien: Romulus’ New Footage Unleashed At Comic-Con
The audience at the San Diego Comic-Con this year were treated to three spine-tingling clips showcasing the classic sci-fi horror blend of ‘Alien: Romulus‘. The first clip opened with a haunting recital of the poem ‘I Have A Rendezvous With Death‘, setting the eerie tone as the crew encountered the terrifying Xenomorphs.
A scene with David Jonsson’s Andy needing repairs highlighted the relentless danger as alien pods began hatching around them.
In another heart-pounding moment, Cailee Spaeny’s Rain Carradine and Aileen Wu’s Navarro faced a nightmare aboard an escape ship when a chestburster crashed the party. Just when the audience thought the horrors were over, the lights in Hall H went out, and facehuggers appeared.
Lastly, a final footage showed Spaeny’s Rain attempting to leave a ship hallway where a fully grown Xenomorph had just emerged. All attendees got alien facehugger masks and posed for a giant Hall H picture with the cast and Alvarez.

‘Alien: Romulus’ Stars Open Up About Pressure Of Working Under ‘Alien’ Franchise
Joining the ‘Alien‘ franchise is no small feat and actress Isabela Merced, who plays Kay in the film, is well aware of the opportunity as well as the challenges it holds. “We understood the pressure,” she said, while David Jonsson emphasized focusing on their work to mitigate the franchise’s intimidating legacy.
Ridley Scott and Guillermo del Toro beamed in with burning questions for Alvarez and the cast, including ranking the films. Alvarez tactfully dodged naming the worst, admitting his love for the 1979 original while suggesting that ‘AVPR: Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem‘ might not be a masterpiece.
Since its debut in 1979, ‘Alien‘ has spawned a host of sequels and spin-offs, including ‘Prometheus‘ and ‘Alien vs. Predator.‘ With ‘Alien: Romulus‘, the saga promises to deliver more of what fans crave: relentless terror, spectacular gore, and maybe a few nightmares.
‘Alien: Romulus‘ will be in theatres on August 16, 2024.
