‘The Sandman’ Trailer Promises Chaos and Chills. Series To Premiere On Netflix In August

The Geeked week of Netflix revealed many brand new trailers and announcements of upcoming shows. Among them were trailers of ‘The Midnight Club‘, ‘The Sandman’, a sneak peek at ‘The Umbrella Academy Season 3’, and many more. The exclusive trailer of ‘The Sandman‘ has got the fans pumped up. It is based on a comic book written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics. The series was developed by Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg for Netflix. DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television are the producers.

The new trailer features Dream, the titular hero played by Tom Sturridge. It shows Dream on the verge of breaking free from the mortal dimension after 75 years of captivity at the hands of human occultists. Even though time is not a big entity for Dream, but his departure from Dreaming is creating quite a havoc. Dreaming is basically a land created of the dreams of the mortals. Due to Dream’s absence, the situation becomes such that those touched by magic can only comprehend Dreaming. Among them is Johanna Constantine played by Jenna Coleman.

The trailer gives a special look at Dreaming in the absence of Dream. The land has turned into a warped, broken place. There, nightmares like the Corinthian played by Boyd Holbrook, have the freedom to run wild and wreak chaos on people’s minds. Just like in the original book by Gaiman, the trailer shows the poor condition of Dreaming in Dream’s absence. Also how his sworn allies – librarian Lucienne and Matthew the Raven – will fight to make it all right.

However, the only thing fans are wondering now is whether the show will feature cameo appearances from other DC characters or not, just like they do in the book. ‘The Sandman’ stars Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Gwendoline Christie, Charles Dance, and many more. The trailer released by Netflix has piqued the interest of fans.

The series will hit the streaming giant on August 5.
