The sudden death of Princess Diana in 1997 left shock waves in the whole world. The British Royal Family then took a decision. It decided never to bring anyone in the family whose personality and fame could outshine the Queen. However, the decision went in vain when Prince Harry married American actress Megan Markle in 2018.

Tina Brown, the acclaimed editor of “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor — the Truth and the Turmoil,” assesses that explosive turn of events in a new interview with The Telegraph.

Brown describes Meghan as “an earnest Californian expressing her truth”. She later said she is attempting to preserve her “lovely, gorgeous husband from his crusty, ignorant relatives.”

“Even as Meghan became bigger on the global stage, like Alice in Wonderland she had to shrink into the voiceless requirements of service to the Crown,” mentioned Brown.

Tine added, “She just couldn’t comprehend that. For an actress, star power is leverage. If you don’t get what you want as an actress, it’s, ‘Call my agent!’ But if you’re in the palace and you’re married to the sixth in line, however big your star power, you are not that important to the palace. I do understand how extremely frustrating that was.”

The Telegraph gave its review of the book that Tina Brown has written. As per The Telegraph, the book is yet the one that describes the “divisive phenomenon that is the former Meghan Markle.” The Telegraph observes that Tina Brown is rather lenient with Meghan since she is an outsider and she had problems settling in England. Meghan had to deal with racist media and ill-reporting.

Brown also believes that Meghan and Harry might have been a “tremendous contribution to the Commonwealth,” and that Meghan had a lot of wonderful ideas that could have helped the royal family stay relevant in the twenty-first century.

The author also called the couple impatient people and are “addicted to drama”. She mentioned that Harry is very spontaneous and is mad very often. She believes that he yet has not digested the death of his mother.

Tina Brown Calls Prince Harry “Emotionally Needy”

“He’s so emotionally needy that he’s been fully and utterly taken over by Meghan and his whole personality has altered,” Brown told The Telegraph. “For a lot of individuals, it’s a very sad situation. Meghan appears to fulfill some major needs in Harry, and they appear to be in a strong co-dependency. And I’m not sure how it’ll finish,” she later said.

Brown also talked about the way the couple left the royal status.

“The problem was that the way Harry did it was so catastrophically rude that it got everyone genuinely angry and feeling that he just had to go,” Brown mentioned. Brown said that Harry alienated everyone. The Oprah interview where the couple openly accused the Royal Family of racism was also a turning point. “William was disgusted about Meghan’s attack on Kate because she can’t answer back” Tina pointed out.

This year, Harry is set to release his memoir, in which he is expected to divulge more unpleasant details about the royal family. Harry will most probably talk about his Diana and how his father Prince Charles very famously cheated on her with Camila. Harry still has not made peace with the fact that Camila is her father’s wife whereas Williams somehow has. We will see what the memoir has to offer the fans all over the world.
