We have seen Tom Holland swing through city skylines, battle villains, and save the day countless times as Spider-Man. But his latest scare came from an on-set accident that happened during the shooting of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘.
The actor was filming his latest outing as the web-slinger when things went wrong on set, which led to a halt in the production. Soon, hospital visits followed up. Concern started coming in from his family, and plenty of fans started questioning about just how serious the accident was. Well, here it is for you!
What Happened To Tom Holland on Set?

The accident happened on Friday, September 19, while Holland was working at Leavesden Studios in Watford, just outside of London. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 29-year-old star suffered a concussion during filming. Soon after, The Daily Mail shared more details, explaining that Holland had fallen while shooting and was taken straight to the hospital for evaluation. Doctors later confirmed it was a mild concussion.

Even though the injury wasn’t severe, it still required caution. Because concussions can affect balance, focus, and reaction times, the medical team advised Holland to step away from work until he fully recovered. Adding to the concern, Holland’s father, Dominic, spoke about the incident at a charity dinner on September 21. He told attendees that his son would be away from filming “for a while.”
This meant production had to pause temporarily. While a short delay might not derail a film, it brought in more questions, will the release schedule change because of this?
While the initial updates might have brought in concerns, Holland appeared in London with fiancée Zendaya the next day, co-hosting the Posh Pub Quiz at Christie’s auction house. The event was organised by The Brothers Trust, the charity Tom runs with his siblings, and raised money for Java Joy, a group dedicated to creating meaningful jobs for adults with disabilities.
While there was a relief initially, the news of a concussion soon followed. Even though Tom Holland attended the event out of commitment, his health took a toll. So, is his condition even more serious than we started predicting?
Can ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Handle More Delays?

Meanwhile, production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day had only just gathered momentum before the setback. Only in early August 2025, Holland was spotted in Glasgow in full costume alongside Zendaya. On August 10, he even posted a short Instagram video sharing footage from his first day of filming in Scotland.

Since his 2016 debut in Captain America: Civil War, he has grown into the role of Spider-Man and become deeply connected to the character. In recent interviews, he suggested he would take a bigger hand in contributing to the storylines for this film. And this is what is making fans more worried.
Holland has always been vocal about wanting to do as many of his own stunts as possible. And that realism is what makes fans admire him, but it also comes with obvious risks. Now, even conversations are beginning about how much risk he should continue taking on future projects.
As big-budget blockbusters are used to dealing with delays, the short pause might not do much harm. But what about the stunts that are yet to be finished? What happens if Holland falls prey to another major accident?
Right now, fans have rallied around Holland with messages of support on social media and with good wishes. Neither Sony nor Marvel has issued a detailed update, but the industry seems united in giving Holland the time he needs to recover and bounce back soon.
