Simu Liu Shares His Waxing Experience
The ‘Shang Chi’ actor is starring in the movie ‘Barbie‘. His role in the movie still remains a mystery. He might be playing one of the Ken dolls in the movie alongside the lead actor Ryan Gosling. Recently, the actor had to wax himself fully for his role in the movie. The actor shared with the fans exactly how the experience was for him. According to Liu, it was a super painful experience and he praised the women who have to wax themselves and said they are no less than warriors.
“Waxing has been an education to say the least,” Liu told The Independent. The actor also said “It was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I have such a newfound admiration for the incredibly brave women who go through this on a monthly basis.” Waxing brought a newfound respect for women in Liu’s eyes.
The Suspense Surrounding ‘Barbie’ Movie
Apparently, the plot line of the movie is a complete hush-hush matter. No detail about the movie has made its way to the media. Liu said, “the discourse online is giving me life,” adding, “With every casting announcement or bit of news, they’re like: ‘What is this?’ And that’s perfect — the less you know about it the better.”
Liu also said that in the beginning, he had literally no idea about the movie except the fact it’s going to be directed by Greta Gerwig. “He literally said this verbatim,” Liu said a junior of his agency told him. “He was like, ‘If I could stake my career on any one script, it’s the ‘Barbie’ script. I really think you should do it.’” Liu described ‘Barbie’ as “wild” and “incredibly unique,” adding, “I wish I could just show you what we do day-to-day because it’s crazy.”
This movie will hit the theatres on June 21, 2023.
