Gianna Floyd, along with her mother, is attempting to sue Kanye West in a lawsuit of $250 million regarding some of his recent statements. The mother-daughter duo is represented by attorneys at Witherspoon Law Group.
Kanye West is an American rapper and singer, who usually goes by the name ‘Ye’. He is known to make controversial statements and surfaces on the internet pretty quickly for his disputed comments.

Why Is Gianna Floyd Suing Kanye West?
George Floyd’s daughter Gianna Floyd and her mother are filing a lawsuit against Kanye West over his recent false remarks about Floyd’s death. Apparently, the American rapper mentioned that Floyd’s death was a result of fentanyl overdose rather than police brutality that resulted in his death.
“Kanye’s comments are a repugnant attempt to discount George Floyd’s life and to profit from his inhumane death,” attorney Pat D. Dixon III said in a statement on Tuesday. Attorneys of Witherspoon Law who are representing the Floyd’s said in a recent statement that Mr. West will be sued for “harassment, misappropriation, defamation and infliction of emotional distress” on the Floyd family, and especially his daughter Gianna who is retraumatized, considering she is a young kid.

Who Is George Floyd?
George Floyd was a 46-year-old Black man who was killed due to public police brutality i Minneapolis. On May 25, 2020, Floyd went to a shop and was accused of handing in a $20 counterfeit bill. The shopkeeper called the cops and within 17 minutes of their arrival, Floyd was found to be dead. Video footage showed a white police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on Mr. Floyd’s neck while he was pinned down on the street until he was unconscious.
The recent remarks of Mr. West towards George Floyd’s death have created a buzz, resulting in an ongoing million-dollar lawsuit.
