It has been difficult for the punk heads to digest the news of the drummer D.H. Peligro! The member of the punk band, Dead Kennedys was reported dead on October 28th, 2022 due to a head trauma. The official Twitter page of Dead Kennedys reported the news which sent shockwaves through the industry.
Many of his colleagues showered tributes for the drummer. Jello Biafra, the former singer, and songwriter for Dead Kennedys penned a heartfelt tribute to the artist on his Twitter. The bassist for Red Hot Chili Peppers too wrote a heartfelt tribute to Darren Henley and called him “the truest” rocker. So, who was D.H. Peligro.

Who Was D.H.Peligro?
The sets for the punk drummers wouldn’t be the same! Darren Henley, who was known as D.H.Peligro died due to head trauma after he fell in his house on October 28th, 2022. A statement stating the cause of his death read, “Police on the scene stated that he died from trauma to the head caused by an accidental fall. Arrangements are pending and will be announced in the coming days. We ask that you respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.”

D.H.Peligro as he was fondly known in the punk scene was an up-and-coming drummer in music communities in San Francisco and Los Angeles. He was a drummer for Dead Kennedys from 1981 to 1986 till the punk outfit was together and then again when they reunited in 2001. In 1988, the drummer joined ‘Red Hot Chili Peppers’ replacing their drummer Jack Irons.
Shortly after his gig, he went on to create his band called ‘Peligro’. They released three albums namely Peligro (1995), Welcome to America (2000), and Sum of Our Surroundings (2004). The latter won an award for ‘Rock Album of the Year’ at the American Independent Music Awards.

After the death of D.H. Peligro, many of his long associates and fans showered their tributes to commemorate him. The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea wrote, “DH Peligro forever and ever. The funnest, kindest and the rockingest. My dear brother I’m so grateful for our time I love you forever.”
