In the wake of domestic abuse allegations, Adult Swim network has washed its hands off Justin Roiland. ‘Rick And Morty‘ co-creator and voice actor is currently facing felony charges of domestic abuse from a former partner. 

Following the domestic abuse reports, further reports of Roiland’s lousy behavior have come out. Roiland has been accused of contacting underage girls via social media, further compounding an existing rap sheet. With such terrible news from another Hollywood creator abusing his power, could Roiland be looking at time in prison? Besides, how will ‘Rick And Morty’ move forward without him?

What Led To Adult Swim Discontinuing Their Relationship With Justin Roiland?

Sources report that damning accusations against Justin Roiland have been brought to charge. According to Orange County’s criminal complaint, Roiland was charged with corporal injury and false imprisonment by menace, fraud, violence, or deceit against the woman.

As soon as the allegations surfaced, Adult Swim cut Roiland off their roster. This is not the first time Roiland has found himself in a pickle. The first allegations of him being a domestic abuser came out in 2020 involving an anonymous woman. 

Soon, Allie Goertz came forward with a series of inappropriate Twitter DMs she received from the Roiland. Goertz is an American musician and comedian known for her satirical songs. She also created the ‘Rick And Morty’ concept album ‘Sad Dance Songs.’

Following Allie’s lead, many came forward with their experiences with Roiland. On more than one occasion, Roiland has been in discrete communication with minors, further grooming them for himself.

What Will Happen To ‘Rick And Morty’ Without Justin Roiland?

There’s been a disturbing development in this saga. The alleged predator’s name appears on Jeffrey Epstein’s flight. It points to him being an esteemed guest on Epstein’s private island, where Epstein notoriously ran a trafficking ring.

Roiland has pleaded not guilty to all charges levied against him. Meanwhile, what will happen to ‘Rick and Morty’ now that one of the creators is no longer associated with the show? Adult Swim may have let him go, ‘Rick And Morty’ is still contracted for forty more episodes. 

It was announced that ‘Rick And Morty’ will continue, with a dedicated and talented crew working hard on the upcoming season. The message conveys all is way despite the hitch, as the seventh season is in the making.

Since Roiland also voiced significant characters in the show. Adult Swim announced they are also looking to cast. In hindsight, ‘Rick And Morty’ is now open to new creative routes with Roiland’s exit from the show. In fact, the show is better without him.
