    The country singer and reality show tour de force Blake Shelton is inching closer to his last rodeo. NBC announced the renewal of the beloved singing reality show ‘The Voice’ for its 23rd season. Currently, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton have occupied the mentoring chairs, however, Shelton will vacant the red chair after the upcoming season.

    The veteran judge Blake Shelton has been mentoring the contestants for 11-plus years. He was the judge since the OG members CeeLo Green, Christian Aguilera, and Adam Levine were a part of the show. But, now, Blake Shelton has decided to step away from the mentoring duties after the next season.

    The ‘God’s Country’ singer is departing from the singing reality show ‘The Voice’ after mentoring and also being the best judge on the show. During his tenure as a mentor, he enjoyed the most winning streak as a mentor. The winning streak started with Season 2, and then for two consecutive seasons. Then Craig Wayne Boyd from Team Shelton won the title in Season 7. Since then, his prodigies have won seasons 11, 13, 18, and season 20.

    In a social media statement, he announced his departure from the show. “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after season 23.”

    The singer also extended his gratitude towards his co-workers and crew members. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best.”

    He also mentioned the “lifelong bonds” he formed on the show and the love of his life, Gwen Stefani. “I’ve made lifelong bonds with Carson and every single one of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife, Gwen Stefani!As per sources, Shelton might be leaving the show to focus on his show ‘Barmageddon’, music, tours in 2023, and most importantly family.

    Who Will Replace The Singer On The Show?

    In the current season, Blake Shelton is judging the show with Camilla Cabello, John Legend, and Gwen Stefani. The new lineup of mentors will include Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance The Rapper. The former One Direction member, Niall is excited to join as a mentor. “I’m excited to be joining this season of The Voice as a coach. I’m looking forward to meeting and mentoring the new crop of talent while we battle it out with the other teams!” he said.

    The current co-judge and mentor, John Legend has shared his reaction regarding Blake leaving the show. He said, “Well, you know, he’s been doing the show for 22 seasons, it’ll be 23 when he’s done, and you can’t do something forever. We’re gonna miss him though. He’s been the heart and soul and anchor of the show for a long time, and he’s a friend of mine, and I really enjoy working with him.”

    It is unclear who will be the successor of this veteran’s throne. Nonetheless, back in 2017, he named his successor. In an interview, he said, “We need somebody that’s, like, going to come in swinging. So, I’m gonna say David Lee Roth! … I want to see that! Come on! Let’s get Dave in here.”
