Once again, Prince Harry finds himself settling legal matters. Prince Harry is taking Rupert Murdoch to court over breach of privacy, including illegal phone tappings of the Royal family and publishing damning articles against him. There’s been a surge of complaints against New Groups Newspapers (NGN), going as far back as the 1990s.
Prince Harry’s lawsuit couldn’t have come at the worst time for the royal family. Days before the coronation, the royal family is trying to make it without attracting more controversy. While the Duke of Sussex’s legal team is pursuing the matter with full gusto, Prince William has refused to comment upon the ongoing legal proceedings.

Prince Harry Is Suing Rupert Murdoch’s Newspaper Group
Prince Harry‘s legal team claims a secret settlement between NGN executives and Prince William took place for a “very large sum.” Details of this agreement were provided to the court by the Duke of Sussex. He claims that with the haunting memory of the “Tampongate“ scandal still alive, the family wanted to get rid of all the skeletons in their closet.
Despite meeting the top brass at News UK, Prince Harry didn’t receive an apology for the royal family. Therefore, he is taking legal action against NGN on behalf of its Sun and now-defunct News of the World tabloids. He is accusing them of phone hacking and obtaining private information about him, including Meghan Markle‘s social security number.

Rupert Murdoch’s Empire Is Defending Claims From Prince Harry
Rupert Murdoch is breaking his back to avoid litigation at all costs. The Murdoch empire’s representatives are of the opinion that Prince Harry took a long time to bring this case to public attention. Clive Goodman, the reporter covering the royal family for News Of The World, was found guilty of illegally acquiring voice messages of the royal family. He was said to have worked alone and had no association with the newspaper.
The Gurdian came out with the widespread hacking practices prevalent at NGN. Several British journalists were accused of tapping the phone calls of public figures and civilians. Murdoch’s media empire lost more than $1.24 billion in the aftermath of the scandal that followed. The media mogul recently shelled over $700 million to settle a defamation case against Fox News.
