When it comes to clicking pictures, we are all conscious of how we look in the camera. It looks like Queen Elizabeth is no exception to it. She refused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s request to take a picture with their first daughter Lilibet. In fact, the meeting was also kept short.
Now, the question remains why the Queen didn’t allow photographs at her first meeting with her great-granddaughter. The fact that Prince William and his wife didn’t attend Lilibet’s birthday party pops up in mind and indicates that there could be some bigger meaning behind the decision taken by the Queen.

What Really Happened To The Queen As She Met Lilibet?
It was reported that the Queen firmly turned down the plea of the Duke and Duchess Of Sussex to click a picture with their daughter. The main reason was her bloodshot eye. She was concerned about the fact that her affected eye may bring up some concerns if the photo made it to the public eyes.
According to a report in Telegraph, “The couple had hoped to bring their own photographer to capture the first meeting between the sovereign, whose family nickname is Lilibet, and her great-granddaughter. However, the Queen personally intervened to prevent an official image being taken, apparently advising the couple that she had a bloodshot eye and did not want to feature in any pictures for public consumption.”
Members Of The Royal Family Missed Lilibet’s 1st Birthday Party
During the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Harry and Meghan threw the first birthday bash for their daughter Lilibet. The party was at Frogmore Cottage on June 4. The majority of the members of the royal family were missing from the party. A source told the Telegraph, “There was a bit of reluctance among the royals to admit to having any involvement in Lilibet’s birthday party.”
Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis also got an invite. However, they chose not to attend the birthday party. Recently, an insider claimed that the royal family wants to draw a line between them and the Sussexes. The source told Vanity Fair, “It was damage limitation, protecting the Royal Family and also the Duchess of Sussex. The Queen feels there has been enough drama around the Sussexes, and she wants a line to be drawn.”
