‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ star Zoe Saldana talks about Gamora‘s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Saldana’s role as Gamora seems to have come to an end in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ when Thanos sacrificed her in order to gain the Soul Stone. Gamora could have left, but ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ time travel made it possible for her to stay.
The third installment of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy franchise‘, which has been referred to as the squad’s final film, will feature Zoe Saldana again, raising questions about what will become of the lead protagonists by the movie’s end.

Is This The Last Of Gamora We Are Seeing?
In a recent interview with Variety, Zoe was questioned about the future of her role as Gamora after the Phase 5 film. Saldana was quite open and honest about her feelings about being a part of the MCU, despite the fact that she did not explicitly clarify what the future holds. Even though she occasionally misses Gamora, she claimed she wouldn’t be upset if she never got to play Gamora again.
“I can never say no to anything, but that green makeup? I wouldn’t be upset if it didn’t happen again. [Laughs] I miss Gamora but I don’t miss 3:30 a.m. calls and five-hour makeup sessions and trips to the dermatologist afterwards.” she said.
Well, a role like that doesn’t come without its cons, of course. But we still hope to see more of Gamora in future films.

Will Gamora Come Back In The Upcoming ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Movie?
Marvel revealed that Gamora will return for James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘ with amnesia issues during their panel at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022. Filmed consecutively with ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special’, Both movies signal James Gunn’s farewell from the series.
The Guardians come back to cope with the situation where Gamora doesn’t remember who they are. The movie is set after the events of ‘Endgame’ and their intergalactic adventures with Thor Odinson in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.
But based on Saldana’s remarks, it appears like she might be prepared to quit the MCU. This could imply that Gamora’s story is concluded in some way in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3‘. Since Marvel could have simply left Gamora dead after Infinity War, it seems doubtful that she will die again. Gamora’s standing in the galaxy might be drastically altered by ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3‘. She is in charge of the Ravagers in it, thus it’s possible that the narrative of Saldana’s character may end with the new squad and an opposing course from the Guardians.
