Former US President Barack Obama is anything but dull. Years after his term ended, he still supports and campaigns for candidates in various elections. His fine oratory skills encourage youth to be more politically active and aware.
Obama is currently campaigning for Kamala Harris, a fellow Democratic Party candidate in the US Presidential race. The former president has traveled to various states as the election nears. However, Obama took a very different approach while addressing the people of Detroit.
“I Was Feeling Some Kind Of Way Following Eminem”: Barack Obama
Barack Obama campaigned for Kamala Harris in Detroit, Michigan alongside rap god, Eminem on October 22. Eminem introduced the former president to the people of his hometown. Following the ‘Mockingbird’ singer, Obama said, “I have done a lot of rallies, so I don’t usually get nervous. But I was feeling some kind of way following Eminem.”
Thereafter, Obama began to rap the lyrics to Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’. He sang, “Now I notice my palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy. Vomit on my sweater already, mom’s spaghetti. I’m nervous, but on the surface, I look calm and ready. To drop bombs, but I keep on forgetting.”
Amused, the crowd cheered for Obama. He concluded his performance by saying, “Love me some Eminem.”
Eminem Will Vote For Kamala Harris
Besides the delightful rap bit, the campaign focused on advocating Kamla Harris’ candidacy in Detroit. Barack Obama vouched that Harris and Tim Walz, running for Vice President, are ready to take up the responsibilities of the offices. Moreover, he pressed upon the importance of voting during elections. Obama voted in his hometown, Chicago on October 23 via mail.

He continued, “I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld.” Eminem stated that he will be voting for Kamla Harris in the November elections.
