The wait is over as Donald Trump has made a dramatic political comeback by defeating Kamala Harris in his bid to reclaim the White House, capping a rollercoaster campaign that saw him face four indictments, criminal conviction, and survive two assassination attempts.
AP projections confirmed the victory of the Republican nominee over a decisive win in Pennsylvania, a battleground critical to both campaigns. Here’s how the most consequential elections in the history of America unfolded and how Trump secured the win.
Donald Trump Beats Kamala Harris In A Crucial Race
Donald Trump is America’s next president, as he has marked a victorious comeback to the White House against Kamala Harris. Trump’s victory was majorly cemented by his win in Pennsylvania, a consequential state for this year’s polls, which brought 19 electoral votes to his tally. This was the second time a Republican has won the state since 1988 and the first time since 2016.
The Keystone State proved once again to be a crucial battleground in Trump’s road to victory as over 51% of the vote went to Trump while nearly 48% of the vote went to Harris. Along with Pennsylvania, Trump also won other important swing states including, North Carolina, Georgia, and Wisconsin.
Along with Pennsylvania, Trump claimed victories in other critical swing states, such as North Carolina, Georgia, and Wisconsin, which were all heavily contested throughout the campaign. With 270 electoral votes required to win, these states provided Trump with the momentum needed to secure his return to the Oval Office.
Inches away from being the 47th President of the United States, Trump thanked voters of America for their support. Addressing an ecstatic crowd in Palm Beach, Florida, shortly after the Associated Press called the race for him at 11:25 p.m. PT, Trump declared, “This will truly be the golden age of America”. “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate”, he continued, as cheers erupted from his supporters, the self-styled “MAGA movement.”
“We’re going to have to seal up those borders,” Trump added, mentioning the issue that he used most to garner votes during his campaign. “We want people to come back in ..but they have to come back in legally,” he said, drawing more cheers from the audience, as VP-elect JD Vance, Trump’s family members, and UFC boss Dana White stood on stage behind him.
Donald Trump Emerged Victorious Out Of The Most Unpredictable US Election
The election of 2024 was one of the most unpredictable ones in the history of the United States. Starting with Trump’s legal battles to his near-death experience and Kamala Harris emerging as the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden’s pull-out from the contest, it has been a full-fledged drama.

Harris could have made history by becoming the first female president of the nation had she won. While campaigning, Harris pitched her agenda for economic reform and unity, while also opposing Trump’s anti-abortion and anti-immigrant agenda.
Trump, meanwhile, focused all his efforts on the federal workers’ overhaul, along with aggressive tariffs and immigration. With the dust slowly settling in, the world has kept a keen eye on the possibility of a new chapter in the next stage of the presidency of Trump.
