As the presidential elections draw closer, the drama is intensifying. So far, we have seen Donald Trump surviving an assassination attempt, Joe Biden bowing out of the presidential race after significant reluctance, and Kamala Harris taking over, leading her to become a matter of criticism for several things including her race, color, personal relationships, and even the way she laughs.
While personal commentary in politics has been an unfortunate tradition in American politics, it has perhaps not been so conspicuous as it is today. The Republican supporters are firing personal shots at Kamala Harris — and talk show host Jon Stewart, who has been actively commenting on the US politics, is voicing concerns over it. Here are the sharp remarks he made against the conservative media that’s making distasteful remarks against Harris.
Jon Stewart Calls Out Right Wing Media For Distasteful Comments Against Kamala Harris
On Monday night, Jon Stewart didn’t hold back on his last episode of ‘The Daily Show‘ as he tackled the right-wing media’s struggles with finding a new angle to attack Vice President Kamala Harris. As Kamala Harris became the presumptive Democratic candidate post Joe Biden’s exit from the race, her critics have noticeably been reverting to tired racist and sexist tropes.
Stewart was bold to point it put during his show, and also supported his claims with a series of clips. In one particular clip, Stewart showcased Donald Trump floundering with new lines of attack, including the bizarre claim that “she doesn’t like Jewish people.”
Stewart countered with a touch of sass, saying, “Join the club, we’re getting crushed out there,” before reminding everyone that Harris’s own husband is Jewish. The host then asserted that Trump’s camp is also using sexist stereotypes to attack Harris, as he played a clip of Megyn Kelly accusing Harris of “sleeping her way into politics.” Stewart further clarified that the narrative has also been echoed by Ben Shapiro with unfounded claims about Harris’s relationship with Willie Brown.
Stewart claimed that the attacks are simply absurd, and become rather ironic if Trump’s own history of questionable hires and frequent firings is taken into consideration. “Your candidate’s Donald Trump. His catchphrase is literally ‘you’re fired!’” Stewart said, as he pointed out without missing a beat that Trump’s own members publicly disavowed him during his cabinet turnover.

Jon Stewart Jokes The Republicans Winning Attack Will Boil Down To Screaming “She’s Black”
Jon Stewart noted that Donald Trump’s team and the media supporting him are clearly struggling to come up with digs against Kamala Harris and are therefore resorting to racist and sexist comments. He asserted that they lack a consistent narrative, and seem undecided on whether Harris was too soft or too tough on crime as California’s attorney general.
Stewart joked about their confusion: “She is too soft on crime! She’s too tough on crime? People, we open in three months! You’re flailing! Dig deep!” Further, in the clips that he showed to prove his point, one person can be heard saying, “This woman, this disaster, whose only qualification was having a vagina and the right skin color.”
Ultimately, Stewart concluded that the right-wing media is reverting to their “greatest hits” of racism and sexism, a tactic they’ve relied on before. “You know what, I hate to say it guys, but you tried. You gave it your best. I kind of think you’re gonna have to go back to your classics. It’s worked for you in the past. It’s your comfort zone. I think you’re gonna have to play the hits,” he said.
Stewart wrapped up the segment with a satirical jab, predicting that the right’s winning attack would boil down to just screaming, “SHE’S BLACK!!” in various creative ways. The elections are due in November, with Donald Trump and Kamala Harris likely to be the top candidates for the race.
