“Say It To My Face”: Kamala Harris Challenges Donald Trump For A Debate Amid Reports Of His Reluctance

The political drama in the US is heating up as the Republicans now aim to target Kamala Harris, the potential new presidential candidate after Joe Biden stepped down from the race. While the Republicans vs Democrats rivalry remains intact, the leaders and their supporters are finding new ways to bring each other down.

Many, including TV show host Jon Stewart, have noted how Donald Trump supporters have been making racist and sexist to attack Kamala Harris, which is a result of their struggle to find anything credible to criticize her over. Amid all the jabs that the Vice President has been taking, she has now given a fitting response to her rival Trump. Here’s what she said.

As Vice President Kamala Harris rallied supporters on Tuesday in a packed, raucous arena in Atlanta, she also made some sharp comments against her rival Donald Trump. Speaking amid an energizing crowd with confidence, she addressed the recent shifts in the race dynamics after she stepped up as the presidential candidate.

Ahead of the next 98 days leading to the November election, Harris finally spoke up in response to the jabs taken at her by her likely opponent, Donald Trump — particularly over his hesitance to commit to their upcoming debate.

The momentum in this race is shifting,” Harris declared. “And there are signs Donald Trump is feeling it,” she said with confidence.

With the dynamics shifting, the Republicans seem worried — and therefore in their best form, taking all kinds of jabs at Kamala Harris. Ever since she has stepped up as a potential candidate, everything about her right from her race, gender, caste, the way she laughs and giggles, and her personal and romantic relationships have been used as a weapon to target and demean Harris as a weak presidential candidate.

While Harris so far did not make any significant comments against the same, she has finally spoken up. Amid the enthusiastic crowd, Harris didn’t hold back, describing Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, as “just plain weird” and criticizing their policies as regressive and hazardous.

Trump’s recent fluctuation on whether he’ll face her on stage gave her even more fodder to take jabs at him. Harris challenged him directly: “So he won’t debate me, but he and his running mate have a lot to say about me,” she said, before provocatively adding, “Well Donald, I do hope you’ll reconsider. Meet me on the debate stage … because as the saying goes, if you’ve got something to say, say it to my face.”

Kamala Harris seemed confident not just in terms of giving Trump a neck-to-neck competition, but also about the dynamics shifting. Her remarks were in reference to a turbulent period that the Democratic Party faced because of rampant concerns over holding onto Georgia, a state crucial for their success. Moreover, Joe Biden’s abilities to rule the nation were also under question because of his growing age and degrading health.

Since Harris took charge, her campaign appears revitalized. The change has definitely given hope to the Democratic party and its supporters about its chances in key battleground states like Georgia among others.

Moreover, Harris’s path to officially securing the Democratic nomination is clear. The Democratic National Committee confirmed she’s the only candidate meeting the qualifications, with the formal nomination expected after a virtual roll call vote. She has not announced a running mate yet, but it is anticipated early next week.
