Barack Obama is hopping on to the Brat Summer as the former President praised Charli XCX‘s album and the influence it had on the music scene, while also including one of her most popular tracks in his playlist — proving he’s a big fan.
Charli’s album ‘Brat‘ continued to be one of the biggest albums of the summer, and was even used by Kamala Harris as a campaign for the elections. Here’s everything Barack Obama said about ‘Brat.’
Here’s What Barack Obama Thinks About Charli XCX’s Brat
Barack Obama is one of the newest politicians to join the ‘Brat‘ train as the former President included Charli’s song ‘360’ from the album in a recent playlist he shared with fans and is now praising the singer for her album and the impact it has had.
With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to! pic.twitter.com/aL400Ctpde

Talking about it on the I’ve Had It Podcast, Obama said, “It is a great album. People question sometimes whether I’m actually listening to all this music. As I’ve testified before, I am. I get input from my daughters, who undeniably are a little more up-to-speed on a day-to-day basis. I’ve got a bunch of young staff who will occasionally make recommendations. Charli XCX, she knows what she’s doing.”

Previously, Kamala Harris had used the album’s aesthetics for her social media campaigns which was also supported by Charli as she tweeted “Kamala Is Brat”, making it viral. Soon after, Kamala X Brat merch was available everywhere as Charli continued to endorse the Vice President.

Charli XCX’s Views On Politics
Though she has not been super expressive of her political side, Charli has still extended her support to Kamala Harris and her campaign as the presidential elections approach. After the memes of her album and Harris started flooding social media, the singer said to Vulture, “To be on the right side of democracy, the right side of women’s rights, is hugely important to me. I’m happy to help to prevent democracy from failing forever.”
However, she also clarified that she had no desire to be involved in politics asserting that she is not a “political artist… I’m not Bob Dylan and I’ve never pretended to be… My music is not political. Everything I do in my life feeds back into my art. Everything I say, wear, think, enjoy — it all funnels back into my art. Politics doesn’t feed my art.”
Though Brat Summer has officially died down now, the legacy of her album continues to live. Fans are expecting her to grab a few nominations and wins (hopefully) at the Grammys next year.
