“That Chart Saved My Life”: Donald Trump Says A Fortunate Head Tilt To Look At A Chart Saved Him From Dying

The bullet injury that former President Donald Trump sustained in his ear after an attack at an election rally in Pennsylvania has to be a defining event for the upcoming elections set to be held in November this year. The “assassination attempt” on the Republican leader came as a huge shock for many. What was more shocking was how closely he survived it, with only his ear injured.

While reactions poured in from across the globe right from President Biden to Elon Musk commenting on it, Trump himself has now spoken up about it. The presidential candidate opened up about the near-death experience and how it was a fluke that he survived.

Former US President Donald Trump said that a last-second head tilt that he fortunately is the reason he is alive. The tilt, he claimed, spared him from a fatal injury during an assassination attempt on Saturday.

Immediately after the attack, several slow-motion videos of the bullet hitting Trump’s ear as he delivered a speech on the podium went viral on social media. Speaking about the viral footage, Trump told former White House doctor Ronny Jackson that the bullet would have hit the back of his head had he not tilted.

He explained that he turned his head to check illegal immigration stats on a big screen at his rally. “That chart saved my life,” Trump was quoted as saying by the New York Post. “The border patrol saved my life. If I hadn’t pointed at that chart and turned my head to look at it, that bullet would have hit me right in the head,” the former President added.

A while after the attack, Trump was reported to be out of danger and later confirmed, “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.” Trump recalled the incident vividly while speaking to CBS News: “I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin.”
